Chapter 20: In chapter Mr. Jaggers took Pip to London. Jaggers also took Pip outside his office. Mr.Jaggers took Pip to court and when they got their there was on trial. Mr.Jaggers and Pip met Wemmick
Chapter 21: In chapter 21 Pip was introduced to Mr.Pocket(Herbert) who is the son of Pip’s tutor. Pip realised that Herbert was the pale young gentleman that he had had met before.
Chapter 22: After a feast Pip and Mr.Pocket agreed that they would live together. Also Pip asked Herbert to help him learn how to become a gentleman.
Chapter 23: Pip visited the unpleasant world of the Royal exchange. After that Pip went to Mr. Pockets’ house to have dinner, during dinner at Matthew Pockets house Pip concentrated on his table manners and observed Mr. Pockets’ social life.
Chapter 24: in chapter 24 Pip goes back to Mr. Jagger’s office and Pip befriends Wemmick
Chapter 25: Pip has dinner at Mr. Jagger’s and at Mr. Wemmicks where he gets to know more about his fellow students. Pip observed that Wemmick has a different personality when he gets home.
Chapter 26: Mr. Jagger’s to keep away from Drummel. Mr. Jagger’s’ house was a dark place only shared with the housekeeper.
Chapter 27: Joe goes to London to visit Pip. Pip was worried Joe would disapprove his lifestyle. Pip acted annoyed at Joe until he mentioned Estella and that she wants to see Pip.
Chapter 28: Pip traveled home apologising to Joe and hoping to see Estella. Pip had to share a coach with some convicts, one of them was the mysterious person who gave Pip money in the pub. Pip overheard him saying that the convict Pip helped that long-ago in the marshes had asked him to give the money to Pip. Pip was so terrified he got off at the coaches first stop.
Chapter 29: Pip traveled to Satis house the next day. When Pip saw Estalla he was amazed to see that Estella had become a ravishing young woman. He walked out into the Garden with Estella.
Chapter 30: The day after, Pip told Mr. Jagger’s about Orlicks past. Herbert confessed to Pip that he has a fiancée Clara, but he is too poor to be able to marry her.
Chapter 31: Mr. Herbert and Pip went to the theatre together.
Chapter 32: Pip got a note from Estella telling him to go to London train station to meet her. He met Wemmick there as a result of him arriving very early. Pip felt uncomfortable. Wemmick introduced him to man who has been sentenced to death.
Chapter 33: Pip met Estella. Estella was very arrogant towards Pip. Estella was talking about instructions and Pip felt it was destiny for them to get married. Afterwards he went to Mr. Pockets’ home.
Chapter 34: Pip thought he was a bad influence on Herbert and he felt guilty for treating Joe and biddy badly. They received a letter saying that Mrs. Joe had died.
Chapter 35: Pip went to his sisters funeral where he was suprised how upset he was about his sisters death. He met Pumblechook.
Chapter 36: Pip turns 21. He will begin to receive a regular income. Pip felt certain that Miss Havisham means for him to marry Estella. Pip was told he will receive £500 a year.
Chapter 37: Pip decided to buy Herbert’s way into the merchant business. They found a merchant whoe needed of a young partner. They arranged everything anonymously.
Chapter 38: Pip spent a lot of time with Estella. He found out that Drummle was courting Estella, but Estella refused to take Pip seriously. That made Pip feel less important to her.
