Lady Macbeth death

She should have died hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
signifying nothing.

The meaning in this passage is that after Macbeth has found out about the death of his wife he is question the point of life.

The context is that his wife has just died and that an there is an army outside his castle.

“She should have died hereafter; there would have been a time for such a word. To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,” This quote shows Macbeth feels that the time of his wife’s death was at a really bad time. You can tell this from when Macbeth says, “there would have been a time for such a word”. Also the metaphor “Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” it becomes clear that he feels as if life has now become pointless now that he has found out about the death of his wife. This is shown when Macbeth says that  life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing; Macbeth saying that it signifying nothing really shows that.

A feature in this passage that shows Macbeth’s mind deteriorating is that throughout the speech he starts to lose the flow in the rhythm. This is a clear demonstration that Macbeth’s mental state isn’t right. The deterioration of Macbeth’s state of mind is shown in different ways throughout the entire play; in this passage they show it using metaphors and the breakdown of the rhythm, but in other parts of the play they show it and one very good example of this is when Macbeth starts hallucinating before he kills king Duncan and says “is this this a dagger i see before me” when in reality there wasn’t a dagger floating in front of him he was just hallucinating that there was one due to his mind deteriorating over the matter that he has to kill King Duncan.

MACBETH

Exit ServantIs this a dagger which I see before me,
The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.
I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.
Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible
To feeling as to sight? or art thou but
A dagger of the mind, a false creation,
Proceeding from the heat-oppressed brain?
I see thee yet, in form as palpable
As this which now I draw.
Thou marshall’st me the way that I was going;
And such an instrument I was to use.
Mine eyes are made the fools o’ the other senses,
Or else worth all the rest; I see thee still,
And on thy blade and dudgeon gouts of blood,
Which was not so before. There’s no such thing:
It is the bloody business which informs
Thus to mine eyes. Now o’er the one halfworld
Nature seems dead, and wicked dreams abuse
The curtain’d sleep; witchcraft celebrates
Pale Hecate’s offerings, and wither’d murder,

Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives.

That summons thee to heaven or to hell.

This shows Macbeth seeing the dagger means that he afraid and doesn’t want to kill the King it he also takes it as a sign that he needs to kill the King

Macbeths deteriorating mind state

Act 1, scene 3- “Two truths are told,
As happy prologues to the swelling act
Of the imperial theme. — I thank you, gentlemen.
Aside.
This supernatural soliciting
Cannot be ill, cannot be good: if ill,
Why hath it given me earnest of success,
Commencing in a truth? I am thane of Cawdor: 140
If good, why do I yield to that suggestion
Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair
And make my seated heart knock at my ribs,
Against the use of nature? Present fears
Are less than horrible imaginings:
My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,”

This quote shows that Macbeth thinks that he will become King because the witches have seen that he kills King Duncan.

Act 1, scene 3- “If chance will have me king, why, chance may.” Here again in act 1 scene 3, Macbeth thinks it’s fate that will make him King and that he does not need to act on it

 

Act 1 scene 4 Macbeth aside

MACBETH
[Aside] The Prince of Cumberland! that is a step
On which I must fall down, or else o’erleap,
For in my way it lies. Stars, hide your fires;
Let not light see my black and deep desires:
The eye wink at the hand; yet let that be,
Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see.

What this means is that Macbeth does not want to kill the King as he knows it’s wrong and he doesn’t want to see himself do it.

Creative Writing

Now:
Walking down the street, I swim through the sea of people. You can hear the sound of waves crashing as you go past the road. The deafening screeching sounds in the distance block out any further sounds. As you walk on you feel free from the massive amount of people. Your sight

Chapter 39-

Chapter 39: Pip is 23 years old now,  the convict that he met on the marshes when he was a little boy was in his apartment. Pip found out that the convict went to Australia and worked in sheep ranching and also became rich. The convict wanted to use his money to help Pip by becoming his benefactor. So Miss Havisham wasn’t his benefactor

Finding irony(Great Expectations)

“My sister, Mrs. Joe Gargery, was more than twenty years older than I, and had established a great reputation with herself and the neighbors because she had brought me up “by hand.”

The irony in this is that Pip is saying that his sister has been bringing him up by beating him there is also irony where he says she has a great reputation. The connotation in this is that he it means that he was brought up being beating but

Simile:

“I’ve been locked up as much as a silver tea-kittle”

Magwitch was talking about how he had, been through everything in prison. So by saying he has been locked up more than silver tea-kittle the connotation is that he has been locked up in prison so much. This implies that he was being kept secure and that he couldn’t get out because, the owner would keep the silver tea kettle secure because it is valuable.

Reasons for and against Leaving the EU

Against:

  • Leaving the EU will not solve the migration crisis.
  • If Europe work together they can combat challenges.
  • Trading with other countries
  • It’s easier to get work and travel abroad.

For:

  • Border control will back in our hands.

What’s wrong with McDonald’s?

McDonalds promotes unhealthy food which is not good because it’s a bad influence on young peoples diet. Also McDonalds spends $2 billion every year on promoting unhealthy food which is not good for people as it can cause things such as diabetes and can also give people more chance of getting heart disease.

Also McDonalds is very damaging to the envirnment.
